Wild year

It's been a wild year. I just thought I would try to post and remind myself that I have a blog. Nanowrimo is absorbing the majority of my writing time. So far, I'm halfway finished and on track to win this year. This whole thing is a major undertaking. Someday, I hope that it pays off and I can become the author I was meant to be.
Wish me luck and prayers.

My Family

So we have one girl and now a boy. That makes us official, I think. We are a family. This summer is much like all the others, with the added hiccup of added Dr.'s visits. Looking for jobs, wondering if we are going to make it through this year. Childcare is going to be a challenge this year. And not a..."Childcare is going to be stretching the budget a bit and we may have to pass on a few Starbucks" challenge but more a "Oh my God we can't afford groceries and medicines with childcare" challenge.
I'm really getting tired of these "10 things you can do to free up $1,000 in your budget." on yahoo. Believe me, we cut those sorts of things a long time ago. Sigh.
Anyway, trying to get a routine going that will get us through the summer. With the late night feedings, we've gotten quite a few movies in this summer, so that's been fun. The pool has been good, and Laurana is really enjoying it. My birthday is tomorrow, and I think we're going to go watch Transformers after a quick bite. Sounds like a good day to me.
Reviews...I'll just review the last DVD I saw...
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
I don't know what all the bad publicity was about. I loved this movie. It felt like the Fantastic Four to me, was really cool and had great fight scenes. Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom was super cool. If they reboot this series, please recast the man; he was perfect. I liked the humor, and the presentation of the Four as struggling with their celebrity status. And one last note. Lots of comic lovers griped about the presentation of Galactus as a cloud. I thought it was much cooler than the guy in the dorky purple outfit. At least for the bigscreen anyway. I'm bumping FF: RotSS 1/2 a star for the bad publicity it got. ****

Reboot- Again

Okay, so we're going to try to pick up this blog thingee again. So much has happened and there has been so much more to worry about that ye old blog has gotten pushed far far back in the corner of my to do list. But, my insomniac derrier is up and I spotted 'blog' on the list (which has been on the rolling list since November) so hey, here we go.

Ellice had surgery on Friday and so far we think it may be successful. Time will tell. She's struggled with a stomach thing today, which we hope is unrelated. The knee itself is offering some twinges here and there, but she did have some stuff cut out, so it should probably be expected.

Um, work is a bit chaotic and I've had to take more days than I would have hoped for what with Laurana's biweekly illnesses (daycare and all) and Mommy's inability to get around as of late. The snow days have helped mitigate lost days a bit, so I'm thankful for that.

Our electric bills have been mind boggling and we are struggling financially, but then again who isn't? Just have to rely on prayer and take extra curriculars after school for more money.

On the movie front:

New Moon
Hilarious. I'm going to have to say my favorite line is, "I'm hotter than you..." from werewolf Jacob to vampire Edward. I think that pretty much sums up this goth teenage girl fantasy series in a nutshell. *
